In late 2001, Glenda Hill-Foster and her husband, John Foster, sat watching the news of the September 11th attacks and prisoner escapes wondering what could be done to help prevent such incidents. Glenda determined there should be a way to prevent these incidents and with her husband's help, they designed and patented the KuFBag™, a hand and arm restraint device for prisoners and mentally challenged individuals. The KuFBag™ is used in conjunction with handcuffs to cover the hands and prevent them from being free to grab.
KuFBags™ are now gaining more recognition. The Pennsylvania Correction Department, with the support of Captain James Zaccarelli, has approved KuFBags™ and has developed a policy requiring that all its officers be trained in the use of the KuFBag™.
